rear window/fast idling
I HAVE A 83, WITH A STUBBORN REAR WINDOW. FORTUNATELY IT'S IN THE UP POSITION. THE SAFETY SWITCH HAS BEEN BYPASSED. IT WORKED FOR A FEW MONTHS, NOW ALL THE SUDDEN IT DOESN'T WANT TO GO DOWN ANY MORE.ANY INPUT BEFORE I CONVERT IT INTO A PICKUP? ALSO IT LIKES TO IDLE AT ONE MILLION RPM. IT HAS A TWO BARREL CARB. I'VE TRIED A FEW THINGS, NOTHING TO IN DEPTH. IT JUST DOESN'T WANT TO KICK DOWN. HELP!

rear window/fast idling
I've read the only real fix to the rear window if the motor is shot is to find a good mechanic who can replace the nylon motor bearings with steel ones. They will supposedly last forever that way. I know a lady with an '89 who had hers done 6 years ago and the window still works like new even with frequent use.
