i really don't notice it on the 99 though
I park beside my shop, I have turnout stacks on my truck.
When the wind is blowing just right while it is raining it will fill the exhaust with water.
When I fire it up, the black water has all sorts of strange patterns on the side of my shop.

I really think flappers are cool I just worry they will drive me nuts at idle. Any thoughts???
Hey blowinsmoke, you said you were not impressed by the turbo snail and 3" down pipe except for the sound. You are the only one I ever heard say that. Just wondering if it is worth the expense and trouble.

justblowin'smoke,
What truck was that on?
How much boost are you getting and are you blowin smoke with it?
As a rough guess how much did it drop the EGT under about the same engine loading??

Hey Dave, are your stacks 3"? They look good. I was thinking about 3" but I have a hard time finding them. I cann find 4-7 " all day. Also What do you think about the muffler. I like to listen to the radio at 75mph
it was a 94 f350 fact turbo 3" downpipe 4" stacks 4X4 5 spd i got 15 pounds with some tweaking to the waste gate it ran good it smoked a stock 7.3l powerstroke off the line pretty good. i do know it needed a pump and injectors and i was going to put a intercooler on it. egts dropped a couple hundred degrees. the only reason i don't still have that truck is because i was driving home one night real late from work and fell asleep and rolled it wasn't pretty

Just wondered, sounds like it was a nice truck.
I am running mid 20's for boost on my 6.9.
It has several more mods to the engine and a new 7.3 turbo IP and DPS Stage 1 injectors.
The old Ford holds her own with the new trucks.
And I like my payment book a lot, it was thrown away many years ago.

alright guys this is what i did because i was on a limited budget by choice ( i wasnt about to fork out 500+ for stacks). i went to some local junkyards/salvageyards and found some totaled semis. there were plenty of 5 inch chrome stacks everywhere and looked virtually new. i only payed like 25 bucks fo the stack. then i jsut welded a plate with a 3 inch hole onto it and welded a 3 inch ID exhaust piece onto the opposite side of the plate. then i cut a hole in the bed and bolted the thing to the bed. (then hooked up the rest of the exhaust obviously). this sounds redneck/hillbilly but trust me you cant even tell the difference between my 90 dollar stack and other guys 500 dollar stacks. it sounds great straight piped as well.
again sounds redneck but it can look great if you take the time
