lift kit

alright i have a 1991 f350 dually 7.3 and the problem is that i want to lift it about 3 inches or so but every kit i look at says either it will not work with trucks with the 7.3 or they say they will not work with a dually. does anybody have a suggestion or a kit that they have used that should work?

A body lift will be the easiest probably. When you go that high with a body lift you will probably half to change the steering shaft.

A suspension lift can be a little tricky with a two wheel drive twin I beam. If you change the front coil springs without changing the pivot point of the I beam it will throw you camber off and with a king pin that is pretty much impossible to fix without some inner I beam work.

I don't see where the motor type would matter or being a dually.

Thumbs up I say do it.

You can safely and easily go with a 2" Performance Accessories body lift. I have done a couple of them. They are great, especially if your truck has a lot of miles on it. It tightens up your whole truck and its ride because you actually reattach the cab and bed to the frame with all new hardware. I have eliminated many noises and vibrations this way and have tightened up the ride and the body flexing by adding body lifts. I have found that it gives you a great chance to work under your truck with improved work room for things like pressure cleaning and checking wiring and fuel tanks and exhaust work, etc. With 2" you don't have to change any hard parts and they give you a steering shaft extension with a u-joint in it. With 3" you have to change several hard parts and they don't all come in the kit. The kits say they don't work with a diesel engine but they do. They work great. The only problem that we could determine is that there might be some interference if you have an intercooler, but we're pretty sure that there would be no problem with installing an intercooler after the body lift is already on the truck. I will be able to tell you more about that after this summer. The added lift makes for good clearance for bigger tires. So does shimming your bumper out towards the front away from the body a little with washers and longer bolts. I recommend this mod. I also highly recommend an ebay seller by the name of sportztrailers. I've gotten 5 kits from him. Takes about a week to get it.

thanks a lot guys. i will probably go with a 2 inch lift, 3 was just an approximation as to how high i wanted to go. but yea the truck itself has a lot of miles, the engine only has 9000 its a jasper rebuild. thanks for the tips that would definately be nice to tighten up some of the noises.
