I had the turbo off over the weekend and installed a Wicked Wheel and now can only get 15 lbs. of boost, with the stock wheel I could get 22 lbs. I can't hear the Kwick filter sucking air anymore either. I have checked the intercooler boots and the intake connections and they are tight. The truck runs fine just not as much boost as it should have. TIA for any help.
id say check you waistgate actuator, you probably moved it, or its loose, that will blow off sooner, and you wont make as much boost,
just somthing to check, and those boots will make big problem if they are leaking, check all of it again
and can you spin the wheel by hand and is it free, no rubing of any kind?
Cookie and I did the WW on mine last weekend and my boost is higher now, more than once on the HP setting I have hit 35lbs but we also removed the ebv , and did the ITP tank kit mod with a extra fuel pump thrown in for good measure. That might be the difference .
Guys I checked everything last night, tightened the crap out of every clamp looked for exhaust leaks and it didn't improve any at all.
I came home from work tonight and pulled the turbo back off just to look at everything and do a reinstall. It's amazing how easy and fast it is the second time in a week. I didn't find any leaks or see anything wrong and put it back together. I had my wife test drive it while I picked tools up and she pulled back in smileing. She tells me it made 21lbs. There was a leak of some kind somewhere but I don't know where.
So I wash my hands and go for a test drive, it runs totally different. It doesn't make the wierd sounds when it shifts now and the boost stays at a steady 21lbs. after shifting.where before it would drop off. I have a gooseneck trailer loaded with green firewood I'll hookup tomorrow night and see how it does with a load behind it.
Glad to hear the problem is fixed.... Quick question off topic for CSIPSD??? I was just curious on how you like your injectors and water/methanol injection. Also curious if you did any modifications internally??
