86 F150 Computer

I have a 86 F150 300 engine with a carb set up. All the other trucks I have are 70's or older so no computer. With the current gas prices the 6 in this truck is starting to look good to me but I am wondering if I have any problems with the computer electronics is it easy or hard to trouble and same question about parts

If you look around in the engine compartment, see if you can find on a sticker EECIV. If you have this computer system, it's the same system used by the later fuel injected engines, and is pretty user friendly. Parts should not be a problem either. Just go to www.partsamerica.com and plug in your truck, and see if you can get a computer, distributor and what all sensors you can get.

In my 86 the computor is under the dash by the steering column. I havent had many issues with my truck so I havent had to do to much work on it but it seems pretty user friendly for what mechanical stuff I have had to do.
