I don't have an F1TF-12A650-BAB on my list. There is an F0TF-12A650-BAB which is alternately listed for "Base V8 302 5.0L FI Fed w/ AT E4OD" and as "Base V8 302 5.0L FI Standard System."
Can you tell me what the program code is? It should be 4 letters and numbers that are twice the size of the other letters and numbers on the main label. You want one that says "E1A1." The E1A1 program code is for Bronco, F- and E- series 5.0L with speed density EFI and E4OD trans.
I'm pretty sure I had a computer exchange from a tranny shop many years ago (I think, it was many years ago and I've owned the truck since 1992). I don't drive my truck too much anymore, I started having worse mileage than when I first got my truck (when I first got the truck I was getting 13 mpg, now less) I've had to pay for two catalytic converters (over 16 years, very expensive catalytic converters $$$$$). I just figured it was the big engine and aging on the truck. I figured maybe the 52,000 on the truck when I bought it was probably 152,000 since I had so many problems. Bad tranny, too much fuel dumping into the engine burning out the converters.
I would have bought a new truck many years (tranny going out, shop cracked my transfer case, blamed it on preexisting condition, two converters going out very expensive and frustrating) ago but raising a family and a mortgage payment didn't make it a high priority.
Recently a sharp mechanic figured out that maybe my mileage issue has been an improper ECU (or bad ECU) installed in my truck which made my truck run rich.
We started the recent investigation because now my engine light comes on every time I startup and reads code 19, electronic control assembly. The light goes off after a while.
Could a computer numbers wizard tell me what number ECU I should have in my truck?
I'm saddened that GM and Chrysler are in the situation they are in. So I have to say, if I ever buy a new truck, it is going to be from a car company that responsibly runs itself, just like I've tried to manage my finances (yes, that's Ford).

You would need to post back the Calibration Number off the drivers door post and we can come up with the part number and drawing number for the unit.
Sometimes it is not hard to get the Program Code (Catch Code) from the above numbers.
