What happen to the harness off of the 93 engine, it should have worked with the 93 computer. All you would have to do is change cams and use a few sensors off the 93.

It hasn't thrown any codes everything is normal except the hesitation and lope and mileage all the vacuum lines are leak free and connected and the only thing we have left that we haven't diagnosed is the fact that the 93 ECU is not compatible with the '96 block something due to the firing order of a '96 being different than in '93 I am guessing. the ECU in the truck is good I just think they don't go together

The 93 harness is on the truck now, ok let me start again. The truck currently has a 5.0 block and heads, 93 lower and upper intake, 93 ECU and harness, so you think that taking the cam out of the 93 block and putting it in the 96 with the harness and ECU off the 93 will clean up the lope and get better mileage?

Yes and use the 93 firing order, this should work as long as the 93 had a roller cam.

EDIT:
A stock 1993 5.0 engine should have had a roller cam.

EDIT:
I just looked it up a 1993 and a 1996 5.0 have the same cam and firing order.
So disregard everything I said about the cam.

Make sure you set the firing order to 13726548.

13726548 is the firing order we put in, It wouldn't fire at all when we first tried to fire it with the '93 order so I put in the 96 order considering it was a 96 block

The haynes manual had 2 different firing orders one for 94 and earlier 15426378 and one for 95 and up 13726548 I knew I should have bought a chiltons hahaha but either way the firing order that has been in the truck is 13726548 so I think the only choice left is to find a rebuilt '93 block

The 1993 Ford Shop Manual for a 5.0 says 13726548.
