yeah and if i get the tires before the motor itll work, luckily the area i live in and need to get around in is relatively flat except for a few hills here and there, hooray for shoreline towns, haha, oh also, i just went under the truck with the 5 speed and it looks like its the mazda its long and block looking and looked like it was all one piece
make sure you swap both axles then or things will break really fast when in 4wd. the 300 will get you by with the big tires, as long as you aren't trying to mud bog race or anything that requires high rpms..
The ZF is also a 1 piece cast aluminum tranny. The best way to tell the difference is to look at the tranny and if it has a removable plate for a PTO on each side it's the ZF. Unfortunatly its most likely it's a M5OD, have yet to find any info on a ZF being installed on a F150 from the factory.
i am going to upgrade the axles once i get to that point(im gonna run the straght axle conversion from bronco graveyard), but the tires and the 460 being the price they are proabably wont be til a year or two down the road respectively. about the tranny: would i be better off keeping the 4speed in there as i planned being that it does have an interchangeable bellhousing? its got a granny first gear so even with the torque from the engine itself its got that as a bonus
