There are a few SAS kits out there to convert an 80-96 F150 4wd to a straight axle rig. The 80-96 2wd and 4wd F100/F150 frames are the exact same (I know for a fact because I converted my 96 F150 to 4x4 and it was a direct bolt in swap) so any of those kits will work on your truck. I know of a few guys who are crafty with welding a fabrication, have actually built all there own brackets to do the conversion as well. Most of the kits out there use the IFS style spings and have adapters to tie them into the old style front axle. Check out Bronco Graveyard's website, they offer a kit to do exactly what you want.

This sounds encouraging! I have an 80 F150 2wd, and can get my hands on an 85 F150 4x4 with no motor (rest of the drivetrain is all there) and junk body.
