Wastegate and P1249 code

I noticed, on the Autoengenuity Help link, that the wastegate is supposed to be near 0 when idling. Watching on my AE screen, mine stays around 87% at idle and goes down when I get on it. I get a consistent P1249 and this may be the reason why. I have followed the diagnostics checks for the wastegate and have found nothing wrong. Anyone know where the wastegate duty cycle value is generated. Is it internal in the PCM or a sensor somewhere. I am leaning toward a bad PCM but want to make sure before I condemn it. Other than the code the truck runs and performs fine.

Don't mess with what isn't broke, unless your breaking it to have fun or make it better.

I've also wondered. My wastegate duty cycle stays at 99% no matter what. It has never thrown a code or been an issue.

Me too, never heard of anyone else that had it say it was a problem, let me know if you find something out.

Excellent point, however it bugs me when something isn't right. I'm always up for a challenge.

From the service manual:

When pressure is supplied on the red hose going to the actuator (solenoid NOT energized (0%)) the valve will open, dumping boost. When low or no pressure is on the red hose going to the actuator (solenoid is being energized (99%)), the valve will stay closed.

The PCM commands duty cycle based on MAP readings compared to BARO readings to determine boost (Manifold Gauge Pressure in AE)

I'll look tomorrow. I haven't pulled any codes for awhile.

No, I've never pulled the P1249 code. I use AE just so you know.
