I should of given some more info.Tranny in truck (79) has only 1 or 2 shifts left in it.In process of re-building 1 from a Lincoln (77).I have a shorter output shaft on order and was going to use governor from Linc. so I could assemble and be ready to R&R (Truck's not a daily driver,but I want as little down time as poss.)

Are you ready for this...the book lists 20 different ones from 1973/79 trucks and econolines! The oldest number is C9AZ-7C063-A, the newest is D8UZ-7C063-B. I don't have the 1973/79 L-M parts catalog, but one of these 20 will be from the Lincoln. 1977 Lincolns came with either a 400 or 460.
1977 400 C6 Governor: D7AZ-7C063-B (Part number is from the truck parts book, the number refers to a 1977 big Ford/Merc/Lincoln (A).
1977 460 C6 Governor: D7TZ-7C063-B (this is a truck (T) part number)
D = Decade = 1970's / 7 = year = 1977 / A = Big Ford / T = Truck / Z = means nothing.
Keep in mind that while an A or T may designate a part for certain model, it may fit others as well.
