I see lots of nice offroad oriented bumpers designed for newer trucks, but not so much for the older ones. does anyone know anyplace that makes a nice looking bumper for these trucks? a winch bumper or something, I know warn used to offer one, but I havent been able to find it lately.
As far as I know, our only (and best) option is to make one oursleves. If you don't have the tools, find someone who does and become very good friends with them. A decent welder, and someway to cut the metal is really all that's needed. See this thread from the offroad forum for a great example: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...nt-bumper.html
We've got everything we need to build one ourselves, but I was just wondering about a production bumper, maybe for some ideas, depending on how good they look.
I have already taken a good look at that other post, and saved the info for later, should we decide to make one, one like that would look good on my 95.
Just need to find something that would fit the older truck better
Too late to edit, But I saw the pre-runner bumper for the 78-79s on JBG, and I kinda fell in love with the look. is it worth 600? maybe. can it be built for a lot less? definately. will have to look into it.
That prerunner bumper looks awesome! I've never seen that on one of our trucks before. I may have to change my plans and go for something like that. Good find.
Yeah it does, and it wouldnt be hard at all to fab up some tubing and make one yourself. Although, if i did it, I would incorporate some skidplates on the underside, and especially on the bottom of the corners to protect the front part of the fender (looks a little unprotected from the bottom, but that could be just the angle of the picture)
This sounds like a good reason to ditch the old stick welder and find a nice wire feed
