My '99 super duty is dragging azz. The rear springs have sagged from overloading by the previous owner I guess. I do not really want much of a lift, just looking to restore the origional height plus maybe a little extra capacity. I haul/tow a 1200 lb slide in camper and a trailer with a jeep on it. I use a solid bar with a 2" drop turned upside down and the trailer still is nose low.
99 f250 4wd crew short bed.
Any thoughts or suggestions(besides get an f350!, yes I know) greatly appreciated.
Have your old springs re-arched, thats when they take your old springs, heat them up in oven and recurve the bend, so they come out at the same as the original curve.

just opinion here, but I think I would prefer new, due to the old ones being used so well. wouldn't recurving them (maybe cheaper) make them weaker? just a thought.
like an add a leaf really just helping out the old ones. just me .02
I had a sag, found that 4 springs were busted, replaced those four, added two more per side, cost me 260.00. My 1969 hard shell 17" nomad camper doesnt even drop the truck when connected. Wife can not stand the ride, I am as happy as a pig in %$#&, also found that the front was sagging, added two more springs there, leveled out the truck. Cost 240.00 for the front.
Had the same problem with my '01 F-350. 4 cracks on each side. I replaced them with new ones from Ford for about $275. Cheaper than ones from a bone yard. I figger that Ford know that they had a problem
if the sag is equal on both sides and you have no broken leaves you could just add a set of add aleafs, they are less than 100$ and easy to install they will increase ride height by 1.5 inches or so and stiffen up the pack for heavier loads. also i agree witht teh others on getting the nea springs from fords if you go that way. the springs you know will be good for the setup you have and thet are not that much more than aftermarket sets. do ot rearch , it will redue the orginal size but with a lot of use rearched springs will go back to the way they were
