Brake Light (in dash)

My brake flashed the other day when comint home. My rear brake have started to pulse slightly. So, I took off the drums today and found that the shoes have about a 1/4" left. I checked the fluid as well. I don't see any leaks and the fluid level was fine. It's the first time it has flashed, maybe I should see if it does it again. Anyone have any other possible causes the light would come on. Is a 1/4" on the shoes enough should I go ahead and change them. BTW form brake are about 5K old

could be from a vacum problem with your vacum pump or leak at the break booster or climate control system. as far as the rear brakes as long as they are not down to the rivet or if they are rivetless about 3/16 to an 1/8 of an inch is ok. so you should be good to go.

3rd that too ... probably a vacuum leak or pump going out. I had the same issue and ditched my vacuum crap for hydroboost.
