I am replacing my single inlet dual outlet 40 series flowmaster. but before I do, I need your opinions on the loudest single inlet dual outlet muffler I can get while I wait to save up enough cash for my true dual. I want a very loud muffler, and attention grabber if you know what I mean. How are dynomax welded performance? ANy suggestions be great. Again it has to be a single inlet dual outlet muffler, free flowing better>?
I am really down with the Magnoflow, wont those be loud?
Are we back on this again lol! I have had my mind set on a FM 40, now you have me looking at all these other mufflers! I'll just have to wait and see what everyone else says.
haha man I am just confused too, but these mufflers all look good. But I Got a mean sexy F350 with a 460 that is looking for more aggression and these muffelrs seem like they have it!
skip the muffler completly and just go with a y out.if your running 3 inch exhaust get a 3 inch in, 2 3/4 out to your t-pipes... use adapters if you must. give her a nice loud throaty sound with some deceleration cackle... i also know some guys who opened up a fw40 and took a few of the so called "baffles" angles and drilles large holes in the angles. about a half hour or so with a torch and a welder....
The absolute loudest will be straight headers. If you live in an area that requires cat converters for emissions testing, there goes your insanely loud sound right there, as cat converters restrict the sound a good bit. If you must run them, go for a high flow converter or converters. That will keep a lot of the sound.
If you live in an area that requires mufflers to pass inspection, you're even more limited. Glasspacks tend to be louder than most actual mufflers, plus they blow out over time which leaves you with basically a straight pipe.
So if you can, go with just headers and dump it. If you need cats, add high flow ones immediately behind headers and then dump it. If you need a muffler as well, tack a glasspack (the shortest one you can find) on immediately behind the cats, then dump it.
I have a Flowmaster 40 series dumped on a Silverado...it's loud and will set off car alarms if gunned at the appropriate time. But I have dumped headers on a 454 in a GMC Sierra, and it will flat out set off every alarm going down the street. Just gotta be real careful late at night.
sure do motorsports. But these are good opinions. I dont have the headrs right now tho guys. I still got my manifolds. With a cat back system right now. But I am only replacing the muffler, and rerouting the current outlet pipes out under the bumper. So the Dynomax is the loudest? And what does y pipe it mean after the muffler?
