Final check on build

Ok Im going to try to finish up my build after a year.....I just need to make sure that its all going to jive. I have a 74' 351 block that i plan to put a spd density friendly cam in some heads and later put on an edelbrock intake. I figure I can get the heads and cam now along with some lifters and valve train componants. Then later I can get the new intake and TB when I recover some cash. I guess the first thing i need to know is if the part number I have from summit is the right one for what im doing and will aeverything still fit on the 74 block? Im sure there all the same block since like 69 right?

This is the exact set i was gonna order:
#EDL-60359

Im also having trouble finding a good set of roller rockers or just a good set of rockers period. Oh and should I get a 58mm or 61mm T-body?

good choice on the heads you will like those. now are you going to run the car intake or the truck intake? if you plan on running the truck intake go with the 56mm. if your running the car intake go with a 65mm

Yea im gonna run the truck intake but first im going to use the stock intake and TB just to save a grand. Ill go back and get the intake and TB later but I need to get the actual motor done and in the truck for now. I was thinking 56mm from previous discussions but couldnt remember.

with the rocker arms If the springs are 1.450 in diameter and the rocker says no bigger then 1.50, that just means no bigger than but if its smaller its cool correct?

i would think the stock pump will be plenty. only if you were stroking and running a 36lb injector would you possibly need a faster pump

I estimate 370-380hp...maybe not that high with the stock inake and tb but shouldnt be that far off. Would I need to up the PSI with a regulator? Thats what they suggested in my other thread. Im seriously considdering re plumbing the rear tank...lol But then again that would set me back more than I can afford on time.

Question

Will those EDL-60359 heads clear the stock pistons? I'm planning on using the EDL-60329 ones, because they are supposed to work with stock pistons, but if I can bump up to the 60359's with the bigger valves, I might do it.........

Not sure actually, my pistons are notched. Its going into my 92 f150 2wd 4" lift 33's. Its got a e40d and a 8.8 built with a 4.10 gears and a true track. Mostly a fun truck and it wont be hauling alot since its a half ton....but I know now that the new silverado (ugly SOB) came out with like 365hp Im gonna have to be able to represent!

You won't get that HP with the stock intake, or the Edelbock truck intake, you'll need a car style intake to go there.

Thats cool....I cant run any other intake without making changes to the EFI setup. I know some mustangs were SD in 87 but I dont think If I switched to a car style manifold that my SD system will work right will it? That just means that I can possibly run a little better cam.. As long as Im around 350 hp ill be happy that was the original goal when I started this project.
