yes, its yet another question about the fulltime Tcase in my 78 F-250.... im wondering if the section with the chains in it has to be replaced with a ford unit, or if any NP203 chain section will fit (I.E. chebbie, dodge etc..)....here is my problem, i replaced the 203 with a 205, so i have to find or make driveshafts to fit, and probably find a longer transmission adapter for the front driveshaft to clear the tranny pan....but i dont want to spend money on all that crap to have to do it all over again when i save up for my doubler kit.....so for now i just need to change out the chain section of my 203 and i can hook it all back up and take it to the river...this truck has been down for over 2 years now and its making me crazy.....i know the 205 is better than the 203 hands down, but it just seems more sensible to take it back off and store it until i get the doubler setup, that would also give me the chance to rebuild and twinstick the 205 AND get to wheel my freakin truck!!!! what do you guys think??
I remember seeing this thread, but it was after a long night, and I forgot about it, just like I forgot most things that happend that night.
I'm not sure if a dodge chain would work in a for 203, but I know they make ford, chevy, and dodge chains, so I would think somthing would be different in all of them.
I swapped the 203 in my truck to a 205, but I need a 205 bracket that bolts the the drivers side frame(if anyone knows why the 203 one wouldn't fit, or if they have a 205 bracket their willing to get rid of ? let me know) different linkage(or I could twin stick it, which I'm thinking about, is there any special way you guys like to twin stick ya'll 205?)
Also, I'm like you, I need to do somthing about the front yoke next to the crossmember.
IF that's all that's wrong with your 203, then fix it to use like you need.
Once you do the doubler, you might be able to use the same shafts, front should work with a longer slip yoke, but the rear might need to be alittle longer.
