203/205 doubler in place of a NP 203

The np 203 transfer case in my 77' F-150 with a C6 is shot. I have a great lead on a 203/205 doubler, brand new and associated triple stick shifter, and linkage. Has anyone completed the swap in place of a 203? I was also wondering beings i already have the bigger 203 case, would I still have to modify the driveshafts?

You do do know why people but a "doubler" set up in there vehicle right?

And if you go from a NP-203 to a NP-203 and a NP-205, yes d/s will have to be shortened.

Then get it, flip it to a guy that needs it (hard core off roader/rock crawler) and then use that $ to get you a single replacement xfer case or get the one you have now rebuilt?

Ya I was thinking about that. My predicemt is I can't find parts for my NP 203, especially the chain and sprockets. Mine is the 2.5 wide chain and I don't think there is one in the whole U S of A.

The low range box of a NP203 bolted to a NP205. It makes for a super low range.

Why not just go with a 205. Bolt right up and 1 of the strongest transfer cases around.

Ok guys, I did find a rebuilt 203 unit. I sure do appreciate the help on everything. Word of wisdom, after three days of searching I have still not found a place to buy parts for a N.P. 203. I will post a link to the craigslist ad where I found the doubler, hopefully somebody can pick it up. I found it on Detroit craigslist.
