90 MPH is NOT the answer. Stu37d got it--it's impossible. To average 60 MPH for 2 miles, one must complete the 2 miles in 120 seconds, or 2 minutes. Driving the first mile at 30 MPH takes 2 minutes, so the next mile would have to be completed instantaneously to maintain the 60 MPH average.
Assuming the holes are a standardized size, so that a "half hole" is half the size of a "hole", even though a "half hole" is still a hole in and of itself, 1 man at the rate mentioned would take 3 days to dig half a hole.
6 men take 6 days to dig 6 holes, that means that each of the 6 men takes 6 days to dig 1 hole, so each man would be half done with his hole in 3 days, or 3 holes would be fully dug.
