Power steering pump squawk/squeal?! rough idling.
just tonight my power steering pump started giving me a rough idle and a squawk or squeal when turning. My reservoir is full, the power steering appears to be working great, but it significantly brings down engine rpm and makes strong noises from either the pulley or the pump- i couldnt tell which since they are so close together. its a 4.2 engine. and my IAC is fine.
Has anyone experienced this and what was the fix? I dont want to shot-gun a PS pump.

i'm thinking one of the valves is sticking, causing it to run super high pressure all the time like when you have the wheel hard over. I'm going to try some cleaner and new fluid, might save me a pump.
