have a 1999 E-350 super duty diesel with 77k miles.
several months back, the truck would stall out when i was idling (red light, stop sign, etc.). this only happened every few weeks. recently, the truck has been doing it more often and is getting worse.
the truck can now stall out any time i'm going under 40.
had it in the dealership and no trouble code was found and of course it didnt stall when their mechanic/parts changer road tested it. any ideas or suggestions?
Could be your CPS (Cam Position Sensor).. Around $190 at dealers (Internet) or you get it one on Ebay.. for around $50, if you can wait.. Easy to replace..

Omg thats even better.I found what I saw yesterday.http://www.dfuser.com/mfg/powerstrok...rs/Sensors.php they sell an improved version on this web page for just over $100 is this really an improvement or just a way to make more money
Some folks have used the "blue" with no trouble. Others seem to have it fail as much as the original. Either way, jody @ DP Tuners doesn't like to have the blue CPS run in a truck that uses his chip.
This new $25 babydoll seems to be running perfectly in everyone's truck that I've read about. It's doing perfectly in mine. Shoot... buy two and keep one in the glove box as a spare. My old one was still working perfectly when I put the new one in, so I know I have a "verified" good spare in my glove box.
