I'm looking into moving out that way, the Davenport area. I'm a certified welder, so work isn't hard to find, plus the pay is almost the same.
It's either that area, or northern Idaho.

$145?!?!!!!

Yes, $33 for a '76 Searay 24-footer 351c.i.d., plus $6 for the '77 EZLoader trailer. DMV screws you because your boat is 28 years newer and higher value. And you (we) get to pay multi-taxation on them every year, year after year, whether they're used once, twice or kept in the water.

Just like the damned property taxes. Mine went up 23% this year on the same property and buildings. That's overall 43% tax damned increase on the same property and buildings in nine years. !*$#**! it.

That's murder on the road. The states allow that foolishness all over the country. Do I think a 101-year-old anything has the muscle dexterity, reflexes and hand/eye coordination to drive a two-ton mass of steel on our crowded roads? No.

Ought to start a thread "Unsafe at any speed".

Older post but still pertains to today. Lower tab fees was something everyone cheered for but they had to make up the difference somehow. Why do you think ticket fees keep going up, they seem to put some kind of tax on everything under the sun. So we are still paying for higher fees but the politicians have worded it to make it seem that we are paying cheaper fees. They are still getting their money whether we like or not. All this cheap tab scenario is just a cover to fund pet projects and still squeeze blood out of a turnip(us). Just my .02
