when was it made

I've always taken my truck to ford to have the filters replaced, but I'm going to start doing the work myself. Some of the parts I need ask when the truck was made. How do I find this out? The stickers on the inside of the doors are gone. Can I tell from the VIN?

Yes. Check out the link below to interpret your vehicle data. Surpising how much info is coded into your VIN.

You can tell if you have an early or late '99 by the position of the motor badges. An early '99 will have the badges up on the front fender and a late '99 will have them on the doors.

Is it just me or arnt all the super duty filters the same for the 7.3L no matter what year? When i had the stock air box and i needed a filter i just bought the one for a 99 didnt say anything about the build date or anything. Same with the oil which i am pretty sure is the same from 95+ and the fuel filter is the same from 99+.

I've got an early 99 (Oct 98 build date) and it has badges on the door. Trucks built sometime? earlier than mine had the small badge on the front fender.
