Front Hub Locknut Torque

Could someone tell me what I should torque the front hub locknuts to on a 1993 F150 (4X4)? Do I torque both locknuts the same? Thanks for your help.

10-15 ft-lbs is about all you need. Enough to seat the bearings fully. The outer one should be cranked down pretty tight. 50 lb-ft or so.

Thanks for the info.

Albung: I have two locking nuts for each side and in between them is a large washer with lots of small holes in it. These small holes line up with a single pin on the inner locknut. It has manual locking hubs, does yours have auto locking? I'm guessing that might be the difference.

^ tk4ne, it sounds like your truck has been converted from auto hubs to manuals, because the setup you just described is identical to the conversion kit that i bought when converting mine to manuals.

The 10-15 ft-pound spec is not for the inner nut, which actually sets the preload on your wheel bearings. The outer nut gets a lot more torque to lock the assembly in place. Along the lines of 160-210 ft pounds

Here's the installation instructions from Warn
