Hello- This is my first message here and I want to thank you all for your thoughts and considerations. This site is truly a treasure chest of knowledge that should keep one from screwing up too awfully bad (providing, of course, he/she takes note before, not after, the screw-up)! I wanted to add a side-note to the MAF puzzle. You mentioned that the first Broncos with MAF were introduced in Calif. in 1995 with the 351. That could explain some component ID problems I have with my Bronco. I purchased my 1994 Bronco (302 w/ MAF and E4OD) new from the dealer in Oregon in the Spring of '95!
Why bother trying to figure it all out? The more I know...The more questions I have...
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Mar-02 AT 12:34 PM (EST)]I have a 96 with 302 and mass air. I'm considering putting it on my 89 with 302. I have a connection to a guy that only deals in Ford salvage parts. So my question is this. What is involved with putting the mass air on my 89? Can I get the system from a newer Bronco? And will it work? Do I have to change computers? Any help would be much appreciated. My 89 is sluggish at all speeds it seems, but my 96 with the mass air STOMPS! Both have the same rearend, so I'm hoping if I put a mass air on, it will help with performance and fuel mileage.
Oh yeah almost forgot, I was thinkin about cutting the bottom out of the air filter box and putting a K&N filter in. But it seems to me that the mass air would be the way to go.
