Please let me know what to look into regarding a 'clacking' noise that comes from the engine when taking off. It is not always noticeable but it is loud and makes my engine sound oud and sick and not loud and proud.
Have you done anything to the transmission yet, or is that still the original one?
I've heard one truck before that had a loud banging noise. On his truck it occured between idle and 1000 rpm's. It sounded like it was coming from the engine, but in fact it was the torque converter. Put in a new one and the truck ran and sounded great.
Thanks. It makes sense because the noise comes from "down under" so I was thinking it mught be in front of firewall or under the floorboards. I will have the torque converter checked out. Thanks for your guidance.
