I replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses, flushed the cooling system and put in new gold coolant, did the Zoodad mod (very easy with a dremel) and washed the truck today. Big day but tomorrow is bigger. The family and I head off to the Grand Canyon for a 1000 mile round trip driving vacation. I'll report back in after we return. Ya' All be good!
have a safe trip.Im also thinking about a long run east coast to west coast in may for a wedding,bother-in-law about 6000k miles. To see the country, very nice out west.
It must be an epidemic. Wife and I are taking the 3 grandsons from Maryland to Washington state and back as soon as school is out in June VIA the truck and 5th wheel. They want to ride every coaster between here and California! Dizzing thought!
I'll see ya' on the road -- I take off for Phoenix tomorrow myself: I-5 to I-10 -- should be close to 2k miles with side trips by the time I'm back in a week or so to Northern Cali...

We got home last night late. It was a great trip! turned out to be 1500 mile drive averaging 17.3 MPG. Total elevation change of 8000 feet, and not a single issue to report. The truck was flawless. The Grand Canyon is spectacular! If you haven't seen it, I suggest you go. Take two or three days and see all of the little edges. There are trams that take you to trail heads and spots of interest. Just park once, and that's that! Let the park services do the rest. We hiked about 10 miles total. I hiked down and back up (hard) the Grand View Trail. Went down into the canyon about 1000 - 1200 vertical feet (less than 1/3 mile walk up and back) and that was plenty for me. Very intense experience.

Hey did you go out on the Skywalk they opened a few weeks ago on the Indian Reservation? I don't think I would have the gonads to do it myself. I hope to take the family out to the Grand Canyon in the next couple of years. I'm trying to wait until my youngest one will be old enough to enjoy/remember it.

Nope... It's several hours West of the "National Park" and costs an additional $25.00 to enter the reservation + $25.00 pr person to go on the thing... I'm not worried about the going on it part, just the paying for it and driving way out of my way part... I passed on it with strong prejudice.
