Door Panel Removal

Remove the little cover plate behind the interior door handle w/ small flatblade screwdriver.
Remove 2 screws behind the coverplate.
Remove armrest/window switch panel cover.Start from the front of armrest/switch panel and lift the cover off the armrest, then unplug window and doorlock switches.
Remove the screw from switch panel hole w/10mm socket.
Remove speaker grill, pry off with small flat blade screwdriver.
Remove 4 screws to the speaker, remove the speaker and unplug.
Remove the bottom 2 white plastic things the speaker screws attatch to.
Remove 2 screws at the bottom of the door panel.Lift door panel up and away from door while finagleing the interior doorhandle through the hole in the door panel.First you have to unsnap and push the handle in through the door panel, then when removing the doorpanel the handle has to go out through the panel.

Just a tip :I put a layer or 2 of masking tape on the tip of the screwdriver so I don't gouge or ding any plastic parts.

I've been unfortunate enough to remove my driverside door panel 4 times. 2 attempts at tinting my window, once installing my Mark LT doorhandles and once readjusting the wiring to the keypad on my doorhandle.

Doh! I should have read your whole post not just the first part. I could have spared myself that longwinded post.
The module with the code is behind the rear seat.

haha, sorry about that, we got the panel off and realized it wasnt there. Now for the task to get the rear seat out. Its a Lariat, i dont know if that makes any difference. i looked at someones piost with pics and our seat has 3 black straps at the top, so it seems like they come off different. Thanks for the help!

When I bought my used 06 last October the dealer didn't have the code and said it was no longer stored anywhere on the vehicle. I bought it on a Sunday so the dealer(Polar bear for those who remember him) said he would call Ford on Monday. He called and couldn't get it from Ford. They said the only way to get the code was to hook a code reader up to it. The dealer down the street did it in about 45 seconds- including writing the # down.

The rear seat on mine seems a bit different. im not able to put my arm behind it!

I heard that from a couple other people about going to ford and they can hook up a lap top and tell you the code. Some said it was free and one guy said it was $60.

It sounds the same to me.I followed the same link provided by 99Trigger3_0(thanks 99Trigger3_0) and it was a tight squeeze even with my skinny arms.Yes I lost a little skin in the process, but I didn't want to rip my seat by using the screwdriver method. Now that I'm more familiar with how the clips work I could probably use the screwdriver method.I tried the screwdriver first and wasn't comfortable with it so I did the reach around method. .

I realized the other day that have keyless entry and no code. Guess I can quit looking under the dash for the code. Shouldn't it come in the owners manual cover or something? Also, how easy is it to put the rear seat back on once it's removed? Thanks, this saved me a bunch of time, as i was about to pull the radio and look behind it.

I bought it new, but there was no card in the owners manual. If I remember correctly, the salesman gave me the book still wrapped in plastic and the cover still wrapped as well. I think he screwed up.
