I have an 05 STX 4x4 and was planning on doing the Brakes. Was gonna go with the Akebono Pro Stop Ceramics and Power Slot Rotors. My question is this...
When replacing the Rotors, do the come off by themselves or does the Wheel bearing come with them. Was talking to a friend who had an older Ford and asked me this because when he replaced his...he had to take the rotor in to have the bearing pressed out. More or less I just want to know what I am getting myself into before I go tearing it apart in the Driveway. Any help would be appreciated
The fronts should be cake. At least mine were. Slid right off
The rears were a different story, go with ohboy44's advice, except go with something bigger and a lot heavier than just a standard carpenters hammer. And maybe a little penetrating oil too.
Have some carbon met's ordered for the front of my '05 4WD. Some entries have said that the rears do as much work as the front. Then why is it just my front rims that get all the brake dust and not the rear rims?
