hey ech0sh4y how much power did your 10K mod give you was it verry noticable or what? I guess i should say is it worth the time? Also is it ok to have the 10 k and shimmed fpr with stage 2's with a chip?
As far as the 10K mod goes - it did make a difference, for the price it's just a lil extra something. I tried the FPR shim and I didn't notice any difference so I decided to take it out. Almost made my truck run crappy! I'm not 100 precent sure on running the 10k with stage 2's and a chip but I have seen some guys around here with that in there sig so i'm sure it must work out!! Personally, I would just run the stage 2's and chip, but that is just my opinion! Hope this helps a little!
What about a 96, is that the same idea with the upgrade?
The 96 can also use the 17 degree pump. it is an upgrade for all OBS trucks. but I don't believe you need to mod the timing cover. I saw a thread a while back that said how to tell the difference in the covers to know what needs to be done so I will try to find that.
ok I found it. here is the quote from the thread on TDS by nit with spelling corrected
"easy to check at the back of the cover next to the EOT sender there is a hump running top to bottom if its late, flat if its not. It is a tube cast into the cover to have the drain at the top of the res, thie psychically? limits the drain back issue."
so if you have a flat there then you need to mod the cover. if there is a hump then the 17 degree pump is a easy direct bolt on.
