far as I know you need to take it to a machince shop with the instructions. it will tell you exactly what need to be done. or you can buy the premachined ones and just return your pistons. Sorry I can't be specific cause I have never seen the set up first hand
I was also wondering what is involved in machining the intensifier pistons. I am a machinist on the side and would most likely just turn my own pistons.
are the diy ones you buy flow jet tested i think there called? if they are thats the way i would go.
Mitch
no the DIY injectors aren't flow benched. you could build the injectors then bring them to an injector shop and have them flow tested. the shop could probably calibrate them too but it will cost you some hard earned green. lots of these injector out there that have been build but not flow checked. including beans early injectors before they got the bench set up.
2 pumps is about the only way except there are a few new high output single pumps(stock style) coming out that may work out. There has already been one single pump setup that used a gear pump but it suffered from hot restart problems. its only marketed for race apps now.
you can get away with it no problem but you will set a check engine light when laying into the throttle. it won't hurt anything you just won't be getting the most of your 2's. there are quite a few guys running 2's with big oil. The 17 degree pump is a stock superduty (late 99 and up) is flows more oil and therefore is a good upgrade over out stock pump. if you go to big oil you can use both a 15 and a 17 mated together no problem. so if you come across a 17 get it then keep your 15 around for later.
hey ech0sh4y how much power did your 10K mod give you was it verry noticable or what? I guess i should say is it worth the time? Also is it ok to have the 10 k and shimmed fpr with stage 2's with a chip?
