I agree Dave S, My 93 weighs 7500 lb full of fuel 2 people in the cab and the cross box full of tools. My gooseneck equipment trailer weighs 7500 lb also, So empty im right about 15000 lb, not a real good light weight. I had a 580 Super K backhoe loader (about 12000 lb) on it the other day and did fine, not breaking any land speed records though.
Gr8ride, The numbers are probaly the same for a gooseneck or a bumper pull, but trust me youl feel a lot safer pulling any kind of weight on a gooseneck rather than a bumper pull. The weight is distribuited a lot better.
i've pulled alot of heavy loads with my old truck. a 20' steel gn stock trailer w/ around 7500lb of cattle. a 25' gn flatbed that probaly weighed 2500 empty w/ a 9000lb jd loader tractor (that was about a 45mph trip) that was with a 94 f350 7.3idi fac. turbo 5sp 4.10 gears
The scale was at a state landfill, they weigh your truck when you go in ( loaded ) & then again when you leave ( empty ) & you pay so much according to the weight of the stuff you dumped. I was surprise when they told me that my truck weighed 4000 lbs but i had no reason to question it untill now. Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to weigh it at a truckstop?
