Yeah I'm self-employed. Hours suck. My boss is an A$$! When times are good, man are they good. When times are bad, man it still beats punching a clock.
Time to start cutting off there thumbs. If they can't read or wright in this language. And have no papers, why do they let them in?
I just have to make a point here. Not trying to be infalammatory here either. I do agree with the problem of illegals in this country, but if one is going to make statements like the one above, one should be able to WRITE! Hard to make a valid point when you're unable to do as you ask of them.........
Now, for the answer to the thread. I am part owner of a franchised distributorship where we go to various businesses and sell snack foods to employees while they are at work. Items we sell are a variety of candies, chocolates, nuts, dried fruits, trail mixes, and jerky. We do not randomly make these visits, we are invited by these businesses to come in, and do so on a regular, scheduled basis.
Is it worth it? Put in lots of long days, lots of weekends too, fixing the trucks, doing the dreaded paperwork, restocking, etc. We set up booths at different events such as our State Fair. Work a lot of extended hours during the many holidays. Not going to get rich by any means, and the assumption that you are your own boss is a falacy. When you are self-employed, EVERY customer and potential customer becomes THE boss.
On the other hand it is very satifying when things are going well and you know you are responsible for that success. Feels great to know you have exceeded what your customers expect and want too.
Self employed here too. Repair air compressors all over California and Nevada. Been self employed for 8 years now and haven't missed a house payment yet.
Started the biz back in August to do designwork & signs part time while I am back in school. It has its slow moments but that is because I do not advertise other than word of mouth as not to get overwhelmed with that and school. But I like it. So if anyone needs designwork done or a sign made up, drop me a line
