its not that i couldn't, just i have no ideas for one, i keep thinking i will fall asleep and wake up with some great idea in my head. but i am not into trying different things just to say i own my own business. but if i ever do see a door open up or have a chance to pry one open, i dang well sure will do it.

I ran my own subcontracting company for 28 yrs. I installed trim work in new homes. I took a hourly job 4 yrs ago to have more time off. I make a little less money at this job but I seldom work 8 hrs a day. My latest day at work this wk was 1pm. I did well in my business. I like what I do now & will probably retire here. It takes more time & effort to run your own business than it does to work for someone else. Self employment does have its good points. I recommend it to anyone who is self motivated & has the skills to run a business.

Computer / technical sales and service in Iowa. Not too difficult if you know what you're doing, and pays good. Of course, pay is directly proportional to effort when running your own business.

Another S-E Painting Contractor here. I've been at it about 11 years now. I'd probably be doing a little better if there weren't so many illegal aliens keeping the prices down--but we're probably not as bad off in that department as AZ.
