I was looking at this turbo on ebay and it has a 1.00 fully ported compressor housing and a .84 wastegated turbine housing. As dumb as it may sound, I dont know what the difference is. Is this waht I would want because it has the 1.00 turbine housing or is it too small because of the .84 turbine housing? Just dont know what the difference is between the 2 and if this is what I would want. Thanks for the help

 

The stock turbo is a 1.0 compressor housing and .84 turbine housing.

All that guy did was port out the inlet on the compressor housing, which does absolutely nothing to increase performance on that turbo. It just makes the inlet wall super thin. I've wondered how thin he actually ports the walls and if it's possible to bend the lip if you tighten the intake hose clamp too much.

If you want a bigger inlet and have a housing that actually cures surge issues, just get the ATS replacment housing. It's got a 4" inlet instead of the < 3" sized one that's stock on our trucks.
