I have a 79 ford bronco which has a 351w engine in it. I know its not the original that came in it. Well i took out the 351w engine because the tranny went and i had another bronco with a 302 and a good tranny and just put those two in the other bronco. Well now the 302 has crapped the bed and im wondering, what is that best move. Do i put the 351w back in and get a tranny for that or just go and get another 302 and put it in the bronco with the tranny ive got. thanks.
thanks. maybe you can help me with another problem. i have another bronco with a 351c motor in it. the motor runs good and everything but the tranny in that is also gone. any idea about transmission in that?

351 Cleveland (built 70-74) has the same bolt pattern as the 302 and 351 Windsor. Be sure it's a Cleveland, not a 351M/400, which came standard in 78-79 Broncos. They look simular, but the deck height on the 351M is higher, hence a much wider intake. Also, true Clevelands had the heads matched to the intake by a 2 or 4 in the upper corners showing either 2bbl or 4bbl carb. 351M will have a M or nothing.
ok so the 302's transmission will fit either the 351w or the 351c but not the 351m. You said the bold pattern is the same does that mean it will go on the 351c and work with no mods to it?
