78 axle's are two wide you would have to find a 77 or older bronco.use the radius arms and drop brackets and springs.best way would to get the 77 and older bronc and swap the whole front supention
if you look in my galleries you will see both types of axles under rangers, granted they are both gen I rangers but same width, the race truck has full size axles and you can see how much they stick out, the brown/tan ranger is actually a ranger body mounted on an early bronco frame and as you can see they don't fit to bad.
I have have fullwidth axles from a 79 F-150 under my truck.
dude I cant stop starring at your truck now that is sick! how much did you spend on that lift including the conversion? do those tries rub your fenders pretty bad or did you have to trim? thats a nice set up. those are the same tires I want to throw on mine. I have them on my excursion too.
good thing tx dont care how far out the tires stickout.when i lived there we had 3/4ton axles on a jeep the hole tire was out side the wheel well. still that a bad a$$ ranger there(above)
just a quest what did you use to get the full size axle to mount to your ranger? i have been giving this idea alot of thought lately. and would like to do the same to my 86 ranger. i already have a 9" rear end. ill have to locate the d44 front. (which wont be hard to do. there is a bone yard up the road with really old cars and trucks in it, they even have old studabakers in it. i know i didnt spell that right but o'well lol) im not scared of fabrication, but what do i need from the doner truck and what will i have to make to get it all to fit. also more than likely ill be droppin in a 302 and being that ill running the full width axles would it be best to use the 1356 t-case from the full size or adapt down to the 1350 that came in the lil trucks? sorry if this is high-jacking but i didnt see a need to start a new thread on the same topic.
