I have a 199.5 F-250 Super Duty 4x4. When I go to put it in 4x4 it goes in Fine. But when I take it out of 4x4 it will not come out. I have checked all fuses and Relays. The only way I have been able to get it out is to run a hot wire down to the Motor on the transfer case and move it out that way. Motor and works great. But its like its not getting power down to the Motor but it will go into 4x4 Fine. See if somebody out there has had the same problem.
Thanks
Dude
I would start by checking the harness for broken/chafed wires and the connector for corroded pins. If all that check out verify the switch is good
Measure the resistance between MSS (Modes Selector Switch in the dash) terminal 2 and terminal 3 (the two in the middle). Refer to the following chart:
MSS Position Resistance
2WD 3,700-4,100 Ohms
4X4 HIGH 1,050-1,150 Ohms
4X4 LOW 340-380 Ohms
