Will someone give me instructions for removing the right side door panel on a 2001, F250, extended cab? My electronic door lock for that side wont work properly. I makes an attempt but isn't strong enough to lock/unlock all the time.
It may be dirty or a weak solenoid.
Thanks, Marvin
There is a screw under the window control. It will pull off from the top end. There is also a screw behind the reflector on the bottom of the panel. Take off the black piece on the top front of the door. Lift the panel straight up to remove.
This should explain everything to you. There are some pics on the 2nd page. Good luck. This works as I and many others have done it.
I finally found the time to attempt the fix but I still have a problem.
Maybe I overlooked something in the other posts but I can't figure out how to get the assembly out. I removed the door panel and got three screws that hold the lock in place and I removed the clip that holds the manual lock wire in place at the midway point. I placed a good shop light inside the door but wiggling the lock around I still can't see how to disconnect the electrical wires and remove the unit. Keep in mind that I'm working with arthritic fingers and bi-focal glasses.
I'm confident if I can get that puppy out I can repair it.
Thanks, Marvin
