Up to 40 lbs with stage one's, D 66, and some good tunes. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

So does the D66 automatically give you 40 psi of boost when you bolt it on? Or does it need special tuning (aside from a standard chip) and bigger injectors to make it work right?

It takes larger injectors and special tuning to run those injectors to produce more boost. 40 psi is the MAX psi the d66 is recommended for.

Bolt on form the turb might hit 27lbs but it flows gobbs of air. I had to tweak and peak the tunning and fuel flow to achieve max pressure. And it flows some serious air at 40psi. I have yet to hit 40psi on flat land but when under load on a good grade it really slams that needle on the boost gauge. Its all smiles

No kidding, I am now researching how long a stock turbo will support 30+ psi. If I would just stop and fix those uppipes I would be making a lot more boost.

Its rightup your guys allies! The turbo is phenomenal. I hauled a load yesterday from Yakima to Ellensburg and the temps would get a little hot but never saw anything over 1000* loaded, no IC. I was really pleased. The turbo also cools alot quicker then the stocker unit did. I can hit 1200* and let off and be back in it starting from 600*. Like I said, at 40psi loaded its a screamer, at least thats what the guy told me at a gas station when i blew by him and his "chipped" cummins, while i was loaded mind you! lol, he wasn't all smiles but I sure was
