Okay, I have basicly decided to go with a dp- tuner, but my question is what setting do you prefer on it. I looked at the web site and it had a lot of options but each one cost more, so what options are the best for these particular trucks? And lastly are these that different from a tsp or bulldog 6-postion tuner?
I would still like to know what is working the best for you guys. I was thinking maybe the 60hp, 100hp, and the extreme 140hp? Do those work well for you guys and are the really producing that much hp?
The most you will get out of your stock injectors is 75hp. I have a 40hp tow, 80 hp econ, and 140 extreme. I could tell a difference between all them all.
Nobody has really anserwed that question about smoking fro me either , but I have another one on top of that. Does anybody like the bullydog tuner? How well does it perfrom? I'm thinking about going with it cause its a little cheaper.
smoke I am guessing that the superchip isn't fueling very much and therefor no smoke. hard to say really. if it claims more HP then it needs to add fuel so I really don't know what is going on.
as far as bully dog, in my mind Banks, bully dog, superchips, edge, and hypermax are all in the same category. they are made for the masses. The a generic and not custom catered to each truck they are put on. Don't get me wrong they are a great improvement in power but they are not the best. you might be happy with them but I have not heard of a single person who switched from one of those products to a tony wildman or dp-tuner chip and wished they had kept the old chip/tuner except that some of the tuners pull codes.
When I used the edge evolution I got a lot more smoke than dp tuners 140 tune. I also noticed a rougher idle and rough running engine at all rpms, a lot louder, less power, less boost, and the fact that it takes 4-5 minutes to program different setting wasnt for me. I have a friend with a 02 superduty with a superchips programmer set on high and he can only get a haze of smoke.
I dont think bully dogs TUNER works on our trucks only the superduty. They do offer a flip chip.

You may wanna look at the TS Chips on Ebay. Im thinking about one of those with 6 positions for about 280 and free shipping. They offer 4 pos too. I know a few guys have them maybe theyll chime in and give some input.

Yea i was thinking about that also. Its 384 shipped and it has 6 settings and you chose what ones, also a free air intake kit. Not bad Im still trying to weigh my options
I used to have the superchips 1700 before I got the stage one injectors. The programmer was a great improvement over stock but it does not compare to the ts chip. Like some one said earlier you have to stop and program the truck for about 5 minutes. The ts chip I can just switch programs while I am driving. With the chip and the injectors I can really lay down the smoke!! Now if I only would have gotten the Tony Wildman chip first, thats what I want next. If you want to roll the smoke you have get more fuel flowing.
Does any body know if these chips (Dp-tuner or TS Performance) increase the line pressure in the transmission for better shifts or is that just the superchips and bulldog tuners?
Sorry to ask but does anybody have that particular phone number. I tried to find it in the sponsors listing but I didn't. I see some companies that sell the dp-tuners, but I bet they dont actually do the programing. I need to get a hold of Jody. Thanks for all the help
