I'm well aware that my '94 has the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern. But I seem to see a lot of late '90s Rangers running around with what appears to be a tighter lug nut pattern. I see it on the B-series, too. Did the bolt pattern for the wheels switch at sometime or another? I'm trying to find out if an aftermarket set of wheels from a '99 Ranger will fit on my '94.
Ford went to metric wheels in the mid 1990's. Wheels will not interchange on older models.
Not on Rangers, they didn't. All Ranger wheels are 5 on 4.5" pattern with 12mm offset. I have Cragars on my '03 with 5 on 4.5" pattern. Guys have put Mustang wheels on all years of Rangers.
On my 2003 ranger I use 1986 Ford Crown Victoria wheels to mount my Studded Mud and Snow tires. Mine at least is still the old Ford passenger car wheel pattern. And before somebody hollers There where some middle to late 70's Ford cars the used the Bigger Chevy 5 hole bolt pattern. I know that the old f100 rangers that where full size in the early eights used the small bolt pattern while the F-150's used the old lot larger standard Ford truck pattern.
The Lug bolts went metric either 12 or 13 mm I haven checked those yet.
The 4x4 center hole is bigger on ALL 4x4 Rangers, they will fit the 4x2 bolt pattern, but the 2x4 will NOT fit the front of a 4x4 Ranger.
I know that an 89 4x4 Ranger wheel will fit a 96 4x4 Ranger nicely, at least they do on mine.
