My passenger window is stuck in the up position, won't roll down. The window will crank down maybe half an inch and then binds up. Window regulator?
How do I remove the trim on the door to access the screws? It is a Custom Cab and has the moulding that goes around the acces panel. Do I need the trim removal tool, and where do I place it?
Yes this is the first time in my life that I have had to do this, how it has taken me this long, I do not know.
Passenger side windows don't get rolled up and down as often as the drivers side. The regulator grease dries out, and the window binds. Then there is the pesky nylon window roller. The glass sits in a metal channel, the window regulator arm attaches to the channel using the roller (all parts stores carry the roller, same as Mustangs). The roller breaks (all the time), the window either binds up, or drops to the bottom of the door. You may find a piece of wood (!) in the door propping up the window, which may be the reason it won't roll down. A broken roller is the reason. Don't try force cranking the window down, this will bend the regulator.
To remove the door panel, the armrest and the door and window handles must be removed first. The chrome moulding is held on by 24 clips. I forget how it comes off, but behind that moulding are the screws that hold the door panel on.

i had to remove the panels when installing my fancy speakers, all you gotta do is like he said, take the 3 bolts out of the armrest, and then take your time with those clips on the trim.
the problem i'm dealing with right now is for some reason my windows shake when i'm on the freeway
Window shake usually caused by worn felt channels in division bar. This the vertical metal piece that divides the vent window from the door window. There is also another felt channel in the rear of the door. This is one piece, and fits from bottom of the rear of the door, makes a curve, and ends up at the division bar. There are also two window horizontal felt strips per side. These fit inside/outside of glass at belt.

These are nothing special, most glass shops carry them.
Finally got around to getting that moulding off and then the window grank and then the armrest. The clips pulled out of the door as I carefully got on each side of the clip with 2 putty knives and lifted out. About 4 stayed on the door as I actually lifted the moulding striaght up on the clip and un hitched it as was designed.
I put the window handle back on and rolled the window down, with no problem. What the heck did I fix? It seems the new arm rests I put on last Summer had these long screws ( I thought they were too long when i put them in) and over a couple months and bumps, 1 lodged out just enough to catch the window bottom.
So I oiled everything up since it was apart and re assembled after I cut the arm rest screws down to regular size, I should trust my instincts more often.
