new radiator?

will the stock radiator from a 66 F100 that had a 300 I6 in it be enough to support the 400? it will be replaced eventualy but i'm trying to decide what is absoloutly neccesarry before getting the engine running.

I wouldn't trust it. Your adding two more cylinders of the same size, and a decent amount of heat.

Flex-a-lite has some new raditators that are slick, or becool makes some really nice models if your looking at doing an aftermarket.

On the north shore of Alaska maybe but not down here in the 48. Check the different radiator sizes listed for the 300 and 400 engines. You need a larger radiator.

ok thats kinda what i was thinking. i guess it was just wishful thinking about keeping the old one

outlets don't match up anyway. Ford had a supercooling rad. for the 300 (camper specials?) but they're pretty rare.

hmmm...what about a stock style radiator for a 66 with a 352 or a 390 FE engine?

yes the 400 is in the machine shop right now but i am trying to get the truck ready for it. the truck did have a 300 I6 in it.
