has anyone had any trouble with the factory sliding window?i opened mine today and went to shut it and it only made it about half the way and stopped.had to help it the rest of the way.
I have never had problems with mine. But if it is dirty it will open and close slowly. I clean the window and the weatherstripping. I then use a little spray silicone on the track and it works like it should.
I assume you're talking about a manual slider? If so, I concur with tazo...I 've taken a can of compressed air and blew out the gunk from the tracks and then a little spray silicone. It's always worked for both of mine.

no,it's power.stopped at the dealer today and there is a service bulletin regarding this so the truck is going in monday.
Mine is on a 2005. I just had it replaced for the third time,Same problem with it opening half way and sometimes would not close. The dealer said that they only have had a couple trucks with this problem?
the service manager read the service bulletin and the suggested steps to go about diagnosing/fixing and there were a few different things they were going to have to look at.it's going in tomorrow.
the last couple inches or so closing as been slow since the truck was new but it always closed.first time i opened it this year and it wouldn't close on it's own.
What is thy meaning of warm? I usually have to mow the grass around the snow in May but by June it's all gone. In late Sept I am usually mowing around the ice or snow again. Warm for me is anything in the 40's.
Wish I knew about the TSB for the rear window. I just got my truck back from the ford dealer for the ABS Light due to a bad sensor in the rear diff. It's a 12 hour drive so I had to take vacation time for that. The only reason I use the rear sliding window is to equalize the pressure of the cab when the moon-roof is open.
just warm enough to have the slider open.and that would depend on how tough a person is.
i didn't know about the tsb either.i was at the dealership getting my oil changed and walked over to the service man and asked about the window.he got on the puter and found the tsb.hopefully this fixes it.
just an update, the dealer has to replace the whole window.apparently the motor was bad.they had to order it so the truck has to go back in this coming monday.
