I'd suggest using a dry film lubricant before running to the dealer. Use the dry film type so it doesn't attract the dust and dirt when driving around with the windo open.
I sprayed the upper and lower areas when the window was both open and closed with great results.
another update, got my truck back from the dealership after they replaced the window.
wow i'm glad the motor went bad! the new window is a new design apparently and now opens and closes at about the same rate as the door windows where as the old one was about the same speed as an older gm power door window.
i'm happy.if any of you guys can get the window replaced with the new version it would seem to be worth it on speed alone.just how the new one works makes me think it will be more reliable than the original.
Mine does run very slow unless you do the silicone treatment. It also helps to be running for the extra juice. The worst thing for these power windows is not to use them for a long time.
