Well, I'd love to hear about your custom setup, it would be good tech info and should go on an FAQ page somewhere. But you're a bit unclear on model year differences. Up thru '92 the VSS is on the t-case, the sensor in the rear end is for the RABS (rear ABS) only. The speedo and odometer couldn't care less about the diff-mounted sensor '87-92. '93 up, if deprived of the diff-mounted sensor, will lose speedo, odo, and shift poorly (which is where your custom setup comes in). FWIW.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-May-02 AT 06:33 PM (EST)]hey honney, i have a 90 model with the 351, so what do i need to do to make everything work right on mine, the axle i am getting is off of an 86 bronco, thanks for everyone's advice, it is much appreciated

Seriously, here's what you need to do: forget about the RABS sensor, tie the plug/harness up out of the way. Remove the ABS lite from the dash. Never think about it again. This will work 'cause you have a '90 and RABS is worthless. Your VSS is on the rear of your BW1356 t-case. Everything else should work fine (odo, speedo, E4OD, cruise).
