Unhappy Differential

I Was Wondering If Anyone Knew What Size Rearend My 1971 F250 Camper Special WITH A 390V8 Has.the Truck Is A Manuelwith Grannygear.also If I Change My Rearend Gears Will This Affect The Power Of My Granny Gear. Open To All Suggestions.

It's a Dana 60. Yes it will affect it, but it probably wont be very noticable if you don't stray too far from the origanal ratio.

Well it depends on what you want to change your gears to? and if your rearend has a tag on it if you put the numbers on here someone could help decode it.

THIS INFORMATION IS HANDY. WOULD YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW WHAT THE GEAR RATIOS ARE STOCK AND ARE 3.73 TO MUCH.I NEEDED THE DIFF SIZE SO I CAN BUY AN AIR LOCKER OR PRICE A POSI-TRAC.

Please don't post in all caps. Get the numbers off the diff you have and post them here. There was no "stock" ratio. You can also get those numbers off of your diff and call the companies that sell axle parts.

Unless you change the rear ratio drastically, you won't notice much difference in granny gear. It is the engine RPM at hiway speeds that will have the biggest/most noticeable effect on a rear gear change.
