Just had to bury an old friend, 99 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad cab Diesel due to a driver that lost control. It was totaled. I purchased a 06 F150 Super Crew. Love it. Have been reading many of the forms and comments. It is good to know that there is not much difference between manufactures and their warrany policies. They are out to not live up to their obligations and screw the owners.
well, you know you have to look at it this way....if people have a problem you will hear about it 10 times faster than if peple are being treated right....

I've had 6 Ford vehicles over a 20 year period I've had warranty issues in that time span and have never had any problems at all. Maybe I'm lucky. A good friend of mine owns his own shop (a really nice shop) in the customer lounge is a picture on the wall that states "It takes years to build a good relationship, and seconds to ruin one” It seems like all it takes is one bad experience at a dealership and it’s time to bash the product!!
I started this thread as a humorus note. I have read much of the manufacturer bashing in both Dodge and Ford forums. Moving faway from the "I like this best" issues I was amazed by the number of warranty issues not addressed by the manufacturers. Those that have no problems, I am happy for you. I had some major issues with my Dodge truck, steering shimmy/wandering, cracked Diesel block and dead injector pumps that were not problems but listening to members -- there were issues.
In reading through the FTE forums, Ford has responded to some of the Customer issues with the identical Dodge approach -- no problem.
A block casting problem was known by Cummins and Dodge. Since Dodge bought the blocks without a Cummins warranty they were therefore the holder of warranty. They never checked the block or notified me about this potential problem. It cost me 14K to replace the block and I was THE ONLY CRACKED BLOCK that the dealer ever heard of in Canada. Reading the forums, after the fact, only proved that I was not the only one in North America.
It does not matter who manufactures the vehicles, denial is a major way of dealing with some Customer issues. As Mulnar might say, we are not alone.
