They make LED bulbs that replace standard auto bulbs-1156, 3157, etc. They fit right into the standard socket. Only thing is, there's hardly any current draw with a LED bulb so your car may think the bulb is blown and it will blink extra fast. You may need the load resistors, they sell them along with the bulbs sometimes, they are easy to find.
I haven't had any problems with the LED bulbs yet. I do have a HD electronic flasher and a firestrip to draw a little more power. The odd thing is I got some amber LEDs for the front and when I put them in then I get the warning light on the dash.
cfrives3-so where did you find the lights? I was looking all over the place and couldn't find them.
I thought it was cool that they had the earlier and the later styles. I expected to see only the later style, and now I can't make up my mind. They are for sure a hell of a lot cheaper than the current "in" style! Just out of curiosity, what color are you gonna go with on your truck? If I didn't know that it could be done, I'd say there is no way that is an 85. I like it!

Somewhere- can't remember where exactly- someone told me that they had serious fitment issues with those AFT lights. That sucks, I really wanted some. Maybe I'll go ahead and pop for em, I'm a pretty good hand at makin things work that aren't quite right. It ain't yours till you've modified it!
